BAROLO - MGA CANNUBI

LOCATION: Barolo | VINEYARD AREA: 0,3ha | ALTITUDE: 320 m | EXPOSURE: East | SOIL: a mix of Tortonian and Helvetian limestone marl with traces of sand and microelements | VARIETY: Nebbiolo

Perhaps one of the most famous vineyards in the world, Cannubi is the “King” of the crus of the Barolo denomination, considered by many to be its historical heart. Here, Réva manages a giornata piemontese (about 3,810 sqm) of vineyards. A vineyard «blessed» with natural elements, endowed with perfect form and microclimate, which rises at the place where different types of soil converge: those of Serralunga d’Alba characterized by the Lequio Formation; those of La Morra, featuring Diano sandstone; and finally, the soil of Monforte d’Alba, where Sant’Agata Fossili Marls dominate. Cannubi yields harmonious wines that stand out for their elegant tannins. We have chosen to vinify the grapes of Cannubi into a Barolo that comes out on the market after three years of aging, a “younger” and more vibrant wine, more ready than Lazzarito and Ravera, but equally rich and surprising. This has been done to enhance the characteristics of a vineyard that yields wines of great balance, finesse and elegance, and not excessively austere structures.
